JAMMU, Oct 5: Excise Department conducted raids in various villages of Bishnah and RS Pura including Deoli, Makhanpur, Salehar, Phinder, Laswara, Kothey Bulandey, Kotli Charkan and Tara Chak.
During the course of raids, a woman identified as Pooja Devi, wife of Kewal Krishan, a resident of Kotli Charkan was arrested along with four bottlers of illicit liquor. She was booked under Excise Act.
Besides, this, one working still, approximately 400 litres lahan and six bottlers of illicit liquor were destroyed by the team.
Excise team led by ETO, City Excise Range South Jammu, Naeem Mughal and ETO, Eradication Wing Jammu, Suresh Sharma assisted by Inspector Ritesh Gupta and Sub Inspectors Manvinder Pal Singh and Sandeep Kumar conducted the raids, under the supervision of Excise Commissioner J&K T Angchuk and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Jammu, Nagendra Singh Jamwal.
