PATNA: Two days after the Patna high court rejected suspended Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) MP from Jehanabad Arun Kumar's claim of leading the 'original party', newly elected state president Bhudeo Choudhary on Wednesday announced a 122-member list of Bihar RLSP office-bearers.
The list includes 15 vice-presidents, 35 general secretaries, 25 organization secretaries, 21 secretaries, seven joint secretaries and one treasurer.
Choudhary also announced the names of the heads of the party's nine cells like state parliamentary board, Yuva Lok Samata, women's, Dalit and minority wings.
Union minister and RLSP national president Upendra Kushwaha had suspended Kumar, his former state chief, from the primary membership of the party and dissolved the state committee. Choudhary was elected the state RLSP president on September 18 and Kushwaha himself was elected as the party's national president on September 25.
When asked about Kumar's claim, Choudhary said, "Things have moved too far. Better forget it, because there is nothing left to discuss about these matters."
Incidentally, Kumar had pleaded before the high court to recognize the group that he led as the original RLSP. The high court, however, rejected his claim on Monday. Later, Kumar said he would move the Election Commission in support of his claim.
Kumar was the RLSP state chief when the party, as part of the NDA, first went to the parliamentary elections in 2014 and then to the state assembly elections held last year. But, differences surfaced between Kumar and Kushwaha soon after the state assembly polls. A few Kumar supporters even wrote to PM Narendra Modi and requested him to dropped Kushwaha from the Union council of ministers. BJP national president Amit Shah then asked Kumar and Kushwaha to sort out their internal party matters themselves. But their mutual differences kept on increasing.
Those who accompanied Choudhary included the RLSP state working president Shambhu Nath Sinha and spokesman Abhayanand Suman, among others.
