CPI(M) leader suffers injuries in BJP attack

Kannur, Oct 4 (UNI) CPI(M) Poozhiyode branch secretary Sivan (35) suffered serious stab injuries on head and hands, in an alleged attack by four member BJP/RSS activists at Poozhiyode near Kanavam in the late evening.
According to Kannavam police, Sivan, who was walking on the side of the road, was attacked suddenly by four member BJP activists with iron rods and sticks. He suffered serious injuries on head and hands and is admitted at Thalassery co-operative hospital.
Large number of police were camping at the site and the tense situation was under control, police said.
