Dubai: Quick wireless charging support is baked into many of today’s most high-end smartphones.

But even if your device doesn’t have the facility, you can still charge any mobile phone wirelessly with Yashica’s YWC1100 wireless charging power bank, available at Jacky’s Electronics.

There are special replacement backs or cases for smartphones available in the market that enable wireless charging facility.

The most popular standard wireless charging right now is Qi, under the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), but there is a rival called Powermat, under the Power Matters Alliance (PMA), which merged with the Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP) to form the AirFuel Alliance, which is pushing a new standard called Rezence.

Designed for quick and intuitive charging, this power bank allows you to charge any smartphone without the tangle of power cords.

Yashica supports Q1 technology and for smartphones that do not have this option, there is a special sticker, worth Dh49, that can be purchased from Jacky’s Electronics to make it Qi-enabled device.

With a sleek, ultra-slim design, the 10,400mAh device resembles a bigger smartphone. It can be used as a normal power bank with a USB cable or just by placing the phone on top of the device, it charges wirelessly. The four pinholes LEDs light up blue when the device is charging. The device also has a LED torchlight.

It has two outputs, one for normal charging by one ampere and the other for quick charging by 2.1 ampere. Overall, it’s a nice option at a good price of Dh199.
