‘Death Note: Light Up The New World’ Live Action Movie Clip Unveils Sakura Aoi

A new video clip of "Death Note: Light Up the New World" unveiled on Monday introduces Sakura Aoi who uses the "Shigami Eyes" and the Death Note to kill people indiscriminately. The role is played by actor Rina Kawaei.

Preview Release

The live action movie clip was recently streamed at the Comic Natalie entertainment website. "Death Note: Light Up the New World" is set to be released on Oct. 29 in Japan. A mini-series of the live action film consisting of three episodes titled "Death Note New Generation" is currently streaming on Hulu. This mini-series premiered on Sept. 16.

The Story Plot

The plot of the live action film is based on the "Death Note," a supernatural action mystery manga series which became a best seller after its release. The story was conceptualized by Tsugumi Ohba and the series was illustrated by Takeshi Obata. It was originally published in the Weekly Shonen Jump from December, 2003 to May, 2006.

The story tells about a computer virus, Kira, that spreads around the world. There's a message in the virus that causes a computer to produce six death notes. One person who possesses six death notes could easily annihilate hundreds of people.

The Terrible Result

This resulted in mass murders that took place in Shibuya, Japan, Wall Street, New York and other notable places around the world. A world famous investigator was tasked to investigate the murders. Eventually, he discovers the existence of the Kira virus' 6 death notes.

The battle begins between people who have Kira notes and those who want to stop them from fulfilling their life-threatening mission.

"Death Note: Light Up the New World" live action film stars Sousuke Ikematsu as Ryuzaki, the world famous investigator, and Masaki Suda, as Yuki Shien, the cyber killer that follows the commands of the Kira notes.
