Soccer site to be built on later

October 04, 2016

The first phase of public housing development in Shek Mun will not affect the Jockey Club Kitchee Centre’s soccer training site.

Speaking to the media before an Executive Council meeting today, Chief Executive CY Leung said the Government is committed to Hong Kong's sports development.

Kai Tak Sports Park, the largest sports infrastructure project in Hong Kong, is one example showing the Government's effort to support sport.

The Kitchee site will be put into the second phase of the Shek Mun project, he said.

On his legal letter to Apple Daily over an article published about him, Mr Leung said clarification is necessary.

He said there is no contradiction between press freedom and the media's responsibility to report facts.

He has not used government funds to pay legal fees for the drafting of the letter, he added.
