Spirit of Navaratra comes alive with mouthwatering Gujarati cuisines

With Navaratra festivities going on, Gujarati residents are making most of the moment by performing dandiya and relishing traditional snacks and meals.Events are being held at different venues across the city.

CHANDIGARH: With Navaratra festivities going on, Gujarati residents are making most of the moment by performing dandiya and relishing traditional snacks and meals. Events are being held at different venues across the city. An event is being organized at Gujarat Bhawan in Sector 24 where authentic Gujarati food was offered to participants. The menu varies every day and dishes offered include Ganchia (a namkeen), Dabeli, Vada Pao, Thepla and more.
At Kalagram, hundreds of dandia enthusiasts have been enjoying the flavour of dandia, a traditional folk dance of Gujarat.
The Grand Dandia Navratri Fest-2016 is being organized for 11 days. The fest has been organized by North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala, in collaboration with Rajasthan Parishad. Participants, including young and old, performed under the traditional Dandia troupe under the stewardship of Shiv Patel Troupe.
A power-packed performance by a live band from Mumbai was appreciated by all. The rendition by celebrity Bollywood singer, Saloni, who has lent her mellifluous voice to a number of hit Bollywood movies, kept the audience spellbound for an hour. At Kalagram, food lovers had a date with their choicest cuisines of various regions of the country. Food stalls offering a range of items witnessed a huge rush.
