UDHAMPUR, Oct 3: District Bench Press and Dead Lift Power Lifting Championship was held here today.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Neeraj Kumar was the chief guest, while President Chamber of Commerce Udhampur Ravi Malguria and GM District Industries Center Udhampur Angrez Singh were guests of honor. The function was presided over by Rohit Sethi, President District Power Lifting Association Udhampur.
Around 100 power lifters participated in the Champio-nship. Shubam Kapoor, Ankit Singh Jamwal, Sanjeev Kumar and Harmeet Singh clinched gold medals.
The medals and certificates were awarded by Deputy Commissioner Udhampur to the winners.
The championship was held under the supervision of Pawan Gupta, Vice President, District Power Lifting Association Udhampur, Sushil Sharma, Sukhdev Singh, Raghuveer Gandotra, Ravinder Singh, Sachin Sallan, Shankar Sallan, Ankit Singh, Puran Singh, Ajay Sharma, Ajeet Singh, Vikram Singh, Sawaran Singh and Jaswinder Singh.
In the end, president of the Association Rohit Sethi while presenting vote of thanks said that these type of championships help youths to gain health. He added that these types of championships will also be organized by the association in near future.
