UDHAMPUR, Oct 3: Locals of Battal Balian and adjoining villages today held a protest demonstration against the industries generating pollution in the area.
The protesting people raised slogans against the District administration and Deportment of Industries for not taking cognizance of the pollution being emanated by the cement and insecticide industries there.
The claimed that after the pollution making industries were set up in the area, locals were facing problems of asthma, skin, eye diseases etc.
Sarpanch Ballian, Manmohan Raina lamented that the Government allowed setting up such dangerous and harmful industries thus putting the lives of villagers at great risk. “More than forty percent population of the area is suffering of the diseases because of these industries, which must be shifted from the area, he said
