for
the

championship.
After racing for two seasons the Vento has departed to make way for the newly launched sedan for the German car maker. The one-make touring car championship is a popular series in India.
The all-new Ameo will now be stripped down to produce a race-spec version of the car. And the championship will be renamed as the Ameo Cup.
This change was announced in the final round of this season at the Buddh International Circuit. Ishaan Dodhiwala was this year's champion in the Vento Cup.
This one-make championship was introduced back in 2010 when the Polo hatchback cars were launched. The Polo's were used for four seasons before being replaced by Vento.
Speaking about this Volkswagen Head Of Motorsports, Sirish Vissa said, the Vento Cup was designed because the Vento was purposely designed for Indian markets.
The road version of the Ameo comes in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant comes with 1.2-litre engine with the power output of 74bhp.
The diesel variant comes with 1.5-litre TDI engine which produces 110bhp. Which is coupled to 5-speed manual or seven-speed DSG gearbox.
