Proclaimed offender arrested, convicted for 181 years by consumer court

Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a proclaimed offender Rajender Kumar Mittal who was convicted by the Consumer Court, Delhi for 181 years in a fraud land sale case.

Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a proclaimed offender Rajender Kumar Mittal who was convicted by the Consumer Court, Delhi for 181 years in a fraud land sale case.

On June 13 2016, the consumer court directed the crime branch of the Delhi Police to take strategic action for the arrest of accused Rajender Kumar Mittal and produce him before the Court.

More than 300 persons were cheated by six accused in land sale fraud. The kingpin, Rajender Mittal who played the pivotal role, has substantial evidence against him.

Accused Rajender Mittal belongs to Panipat and has received education till class 12. At the age of 20, he started working as a property dealing in the name of Tirupati Associates at Vikas Marg in Delhi.

Mittal was earlier arrested in 1991 and after remaining in jail for three months, he came out on bail and since then he has been absconding. On July 30, 2013 the Court declared him as Proclaimed Offender in several cases.
