‘Palayan Nahi Parakram’ VHP to launch campaign to prevent ‘Hindu migration’

The decision to launch the campaign comes days after the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) submitted a report to the UP government stating that many families have “migrated” out of Kairana town in Shamli district due to poor law and order situation and threats from criminals. Earlier, Hukum Singh, the BJP MP from Kairana, had alleged that more than 300 families had migrated from the town. Later, (VHP) had conducted a country-wide survey to identify areas where population of Hindus has decreased as compared to Muslims and Christians over the years.

Contacted, Jain said that VHP will develop an atmosphere among Hindus that they will not have to migrate due to fear of atrocities from any other community. “In such areas and localities, where Hindus are vulnerable to migration due to atrocities from other communities and difference in population numbers, VHP will develop units of Bajrang Dal and Durga Vahini. They will regularly meet the Hindu families and will also take out yatras to develop confidence among them,” Jain said.

Durga Vahini is the woman’s wing of VHP and also gives self defence training to girls. “Durga Vahini volunteers will interact with women of Hindu families in vulnerable areas because people of dominant communities first target the women and girls through tactics like “love jihad” and eve-teasing,” said a VHP leader in Awadh prant.

Under the campaign, the VHP leaders will also organise meeting in the Hindu dominated localities close to “vulnerable village or habitats”, and will appeal the community members there to maintain communication, celebrate festivals jointly and help each other tide over any problem.

Jain said that VHP will soon submit a report to the NHRC regarding migration of Hindu families from various localities in 17 different states including UP, Bihar, Haryana, West Bengal, Assam, Tripura, Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir. VHP claims that there are various localities in UP where Hindus were in majority 30 years ago but are in ‘minority’ at present. VHP claims that most of these localities are in Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Sambhal, Shamli, Amroha, Bijnor and Rampur.
