Toledo-BYU game lasted so long commentator Mack Brown left before it was over

BYU and Toledo played one of the most thrilling college football games of the season on Friday night, a 108-point classic that was nail-biting from beginning to end. It was also long. It was really, really long.

It was so long that TV analyst Mack Brown got up and walked out before the game was over. Seriously. Brown had to be in Connecticut for his Saturday morning college football analyst job at ESPN, and Utah is a bit of a hike from Connecticut, so he got up in the fourth quarter and walked out, leaving play-by-play man Adam Amin in the booth alone.

Brown missed the end of the game, which saw BYU beat Toledo 55-53 with a field goal as time expired. This happened at 2:30 a.m. ET, so I don’t begrudge Brown for getting out of there. Can’t be playing football games all until the middle of the night.
