imagePumped up Pakistan took down the calypso kings in the first One Day International (ODI) held at Sharajah, thanks to a blistering maiden hundred by right-hand batsman Babar Azam, who scored 120 runs to take Pakistan home.

In doing so, Pakistan have taken over India as the second most successful team in the ODI format, winning its 455th game, which is one more than arch rivals India.

However, it should be noted that Pakistan has played fewer ODIs i.e. 864 matches, as compared to India, which has played 899 matches. Meaning Pakistan enjoys a higher winning percentage of 54.25 percent as compared to India’s 53.19pc, revealed ESPNcricinfo.

Australia remains the most successful team in ODIs with most wins under its belt, winning 547 out of 884 matches, with a winning rate of 64.73pc.

Pakistan at the moment are playing a crucial ODI series against West Indies, as the series winner would emerge as a direct contender to the ICC Cricket World Cup, 2019 to be held in England.
