NMC to observe Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on October 2
NAGPUR: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation has geared up to observe Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on October 2. Sources in NMC’s health department (sanitation), the civic body has planned cleanliness drive across its 10 zones on October 2. The civic body will ensure success of the drive by deploying its own workforce of over 6,000 sanitary workers.
Laxmi Nagar zone has planned cleanliness drives from Khamla vegetable market to Bhende Layout road (outer Ring Road); Dharampeth zone to concentrate on the patch between Ram Nagar and Ambazari Ghat road to Ambazari overflow point and Dhantoli zone will conduct the drive between Dhantoli police station and Panchsheel Square to Lokmat Square (beneath Shaheed Gowari flyover).

Similarly, other zones — Nehru Nagar (Jagnade Chowk to Venkatesh Nagar road), Gandhibagh (Jyoti Nagar), Satranjipura (Naik Talao and its premises), Lakadganj (Hiwri Nagar slum), Ashi Nagar (Indora main road and Indora Chowk to Nara Road) and Mangalwari (Gittikhadan road and CPWD ground) — have planned cleanliness drive.
