Four-year-old girl drowns

JAIPUR: A 4-year-old girl died after she drowned in a pond in Bhim area of Rajsamand district on Friday morning.
According to the police, Sanjana had gone to a pond along with her mother. While her mother was washing clothes on the banks of the pond, the girl jumped into the pond to take a bath but drowned after a few minutes. When the mother started looking out for the toddler, she was nowhere to be found.Thus, she raised the alarm and soon villagers also came in to help her. After three hours of search, the people found the body inside the pond.
The police called in the members of the civil defense team to take out the body of the toddler. After many attempts the body was fished out with the help of villagers. The police said that girl died after the water chocked her lungs and she could not breathe. The mother of the child fainted after she heard about the death of her child.
