COLLINGWOOD coach Nathan Buckley has quashed rumours Brent Harvey will be at the Magpies in 2017 declaring the club hasn’t even spoken to him.
It was reported this week the North Melbourne champion could be headed to the Holden Centre next year to continue his AFL career.
But while the Magpies are looking to add experience to its young group, Buckley said 38-year-old Harvey won’t be an addition.
“What I will say about Boomer is he won’t be at Collingwood next year,” he told Channel 7. “I’d can clarify that out of respect for him, he doesn’t need that speculation.

READ NOW“Either it’s there through his management trying to bump up his value somewhere else or it’s there because it’s an interesting link to make, everyone seems to be linked to Collingwood.”
Harvey remains undecided whether he’ll play on at a rival club next season, with the VFL/AFL games record holder trying to come to terms with the idea of playing at a club that isn’t North Melbourne.
He has confirmed he has suitors and will use a family holiday to Disneyland to ponder his future.
“Do I want to do that at another club? I don’t know. That is what I am wrestling with at the minute,” he said.
“I am taking the kids to Disneyland for three weeks and I will really get some time to think.”
The Pies are set to be major players during the free agency and trade period, having already been linked to Harvey’s teammate and unrestricted free agent Daniel Wells, Dockers restricted free agent forward Chris Mayne and Giant Will Hoskin-Elliott, while Travis Cloke has requested a trade.
