LUCKNOW: The UP IAS association on Friday designated its senior most serving officer, Shailesh Krishna, as president of the UP civil servant's association. Krishna will take over from Anil Kumar Gupta, who retired from service on Friday. Krishna is at present deputed in Noida.
IAS association members on Friday decided to request the government to consider, once again, their demand for officers of the 1985 and 1986 batches to be given salaries and allowances at par with that of the chief secretary, and for officers working at the level of chief secretary to be given additional chief secretary status.

The IAS association also reached a consensus on beginning the acedemic session at the Sanskriti School in 2017, from Class 5 levels onwards. Members also said they will request the government to unreleased funds under the 'Children's Education Allowance'. Serving officers also said they will request the government to allow serving and former civil servants of the rank of chief secretary to allow the use of the New Delhi-based UP Sadan.
