Jacamo opens search for ‘real man’ model

N Brown’s menswear business Jacamo is launching a model competition to find a “realistic model” to star in its autumn 17 campaign.

The firm, which uses cricketer Freddie Flintoff as its brand ambassador, said it is looking for “an everyday guy to champion the diversity of male body shapes and characters”.

Flintoff will be part of the judging panel, alongside Angela Spindler, chief executive of N Brown and Donna Green from Models 1. The winner will become the face of the autumn 17 campaign, as well as receiving £1,000 to spend at Jacamo and an introduction to Europe’s largest model agency Models 1.

“It’s more important than ever to ensure the fashion industry reflects the needs and wants of consumers and this research says loud and clear that men are looking to see more ‘real’ men featured in fashion campaigns,” said Green. “Women are ahead in this respect, so now it’s time for men to catch up and we’re thrilled to be part of the journey.”
