PUNE: Major Dilawar Singh said that the youth considering the national interest must continuously be on a progressive path with character, honesty and continuity in efforts. He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Youth achievements, skills employment fair and youth meet’ organized by Nehru Tuva Sanghatna, Pune, union youth programme and sports ministry and Yashasvi group. He said, “Our country is of youth.
The youth population in the country will be 65% of the total population in 2020. Our country will be the youngest country in the world.”
He said many youth understand their national and social responsibility, and without expecting any help or co-operation choose a subject and work to serve the society and country. The aim of this programme is to provide a platform for such people, to take notice of the innovative work of youth, to link them to the various government departments and organisations. He also announced the launch of many youth related schemes and projects.
Industrialist Ramdas Mane spoke about his journey of becoming an industrialist. Samriddhi Yuva Manch, Varkute khurd, Indapur taluka was awarded the best district youth mandal award. The award consists of Rs 25,000 and certificate. Singh distributed certificates to the students who have passed the Prime Minister Skill Development Scheme. 16 youth mandals of Pune district were awarded ‘Swachha Bharat Prerana’ awards under the youth for development scheme.
