Army officials and took briefing on internal security from senior
government officials.
Top Army personnel from South West Command (SWC) were called by the minister to assess the situation on border. Army in its briefing maintained that situation is normal and urged people not be panicked.
It also asserted that unlike Punjab, need to evacuate people from border villages in
Rajasthan is not required.
"Army officials were called to discuss the ongoing situation. We congratulated them on their successful operation and told them if adverse situation arises they have full support of Rajasthan government. There is no reason to worry," said Kataria. The minister also urged people to be ready and extend their help if there is a need for it.
Internal security was reviewed in which chief secretary O P Meena, DGP Manoj Bhatt and principal secretary (home) Deepak Upreti were present. Superintendent of police (SPs) and collectors have been asked to remain vigilant while border districts have been asked to be on high alert.
"Police have been asked to be on alert and keep vigil on public and crowded places. To ensure law and order is not disturbed, police was alerted three days ago. We have up our efforts so that no elements can cause internal disturbance."
