The feting of David Ortiz continues apace: The Red Sox's DH/warrior-poet on Thursday night made his final appearance in the Bronx against the rival Yankees. We've known for a while that the Yankees planned to do something to honor Ortiz, and here's what they came up with:

Mariano Rivera and an oil painting! He gets to keep the painting, but Mariano belongs to all of us!

As well, the David Cone and Jacoby Ellsbury presented Ortiz with a leather-bound book of letters from various Yankees. That painting of Big Papi in Yankee Stadium is the highlight, though. Here's a closer look at it:

As the AP notes, the painting is by the artist Justyn Farano.

As for that grassroots movement to have everyone in attendance moon Big Papi, those efforts appear to have come to grief.
