ALGIERS, Algeria -- Saudi Arabia played a pivotal role in OPEC's deal Wednesday to reduce crude oil output, softening its stance on rival Iran amid fears that leaving empty-handed and letting the bloc continue to flood the market would squeeze already strained finances.
