DEHRADUN: In a bid to make the government machinery in the state more effective, chief minister
Harish Rawat has appointed six new advisers.
Three of the advisers, including top government functionary Ranjeet Rawat, will enjoy the status of cabinet ministers. The other three have been appointed at the rank of state minister. Rawat, who was serving as Industrial adviser prior to the imposition of central rule in the state on March 27, was appointed as principal adviser to the CM, another senior
Congress leader
Vijay Saraswat, was appointed adviser to settle disbursement of properties between
Uttarakhand and UP.
Congress leader Prayag Dutt Bhatt was appointed as adviser for state disaster management department.
Ghananand Nautiyal was appointed adviser for pilgrimage while Mohammad Shakil Qureshi will look after small scale industries and
Harpal Singh Rawat will advise the Pravasi Bandhu department in the state.
The new advisers will take charge in the next few days. "The appointment of these advisers will contribute towards improving governance and solve problems of the people,” said CM Rawat.
Commenting on his new appointment, Ranjeet Rawat said, “The position of principal adviser to CM is full of responsibilities and I will try to meet all the expectations of the state and its people.”
