Ever since the release of SS Rajamouli's epic fantasy drama Baahubali, the audience couldn't stop asking the question: "Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?"

While the team is rigorously shooting for the climax portion of the much-awaited sequel, reports about Prabhas' next film have cropped up.

According to The News Minute, Prabhas will be essaying the role of a stylish cop in the upcoming yet-untitled film. To be helmed by Sujeeth of Run Raja Run fame, the project is likely to go on floors in January 2017.

Produced by Mirchi under UV Creations, the project will be made on a lavish budget close to Rs 100 crore.

Meanwhile, the first look posters of Baahubali: The Conclusion is expected to be out on Prabhas' birthday (October 23).

With the film likely to be wrapped this November, the trailer of the film will be unveiled in January 2017.

The film co-starring Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia and Anushka Shetty is the sequel to 2015's highly successful Baahubali: The Beginning which grossed over Rs 600 crore worldwide. Baahubali: The Conclusion will hit the screens on April 28, 2017.

Interestingly, rumours are rife that Prabhas is likely to play a cameo in actor Suriya's upcoming actioner Singam 3.
