Businessman robbed of Rs 5 lakh

GHAZIABAD: A businessman was on Wednesday robbed of Rs 5 lakh cash from Dasna. The victim Vineet Garg was going home on his scooter when he was waylaid by bike-borne robbers at an isolated spot and robbed.
Garg said, “I had gone for collection in Masuri and was on my way back home on my scooter and kept the bag containing Rs 5 lakh in the dicky. I took a short cut and then two men in their early thirties on a bike overtook me and forced me to stop near Masuri graveyard.Even before I could make out what was happening they brandished a pistol and demanded to open the dickey of my scotty and threatened me when I resisted.”
Hardayal Yadav, SHO of Masuri police station, said, “It seems that the robbers had prior information of the victim’s movement and they were even aware that he was carrying cash. We are questioning the victim for more leads and an FIR has been lodged.”
