Minnesota Lynx players wear amazing Prince-themed shoes in WNBA playoffs

Some Minnesota Lynx players paid tribute to the late, great Prince by wearing purple shoes in their 113-95 win in Game 1 of the WNBA semifinals vs. the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday night.

Seimone Augustus and Sylvia Fowles had writing and drawings on their kicks that included Prince’s logo, song lyrics and song titles.

The Lynx are one of the pro sports teams that shared an incredible moment with Prince before he passed. After they won the WNBA championship last year, Prince surprised the team with a three-hour concert.

Lynx guard Renee Montgomery told For The Win that it was an unforgettable experience.

“But that kind of stuff that happens to NBA players. But for somebody of that magnitude to make us feel appreciated, I mean he gave us memories of a lifetime.”

Update: Kyrie Irving approved of Augustus’ customized Kyrie shoes.
