Mesut Ozil could leave Arsenal for dream return to Real Madrid

The transfer window might be shut, but don't think the wheeling and dealing won't continue!

Free transfers can still be submitted to the FAs, plus there's January to start thinking about. As always, you can see all the latest deals here.

Top Story: Ozil still dreaming of Real?

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is on the record that contract talks between the club and Mesut Ozil are set to begin. But German outlet Bild says not so fast, Arsene.

Ozil apparently has two prerequisites before signing a new deal, which reportedly could be worth a club-record £200,000 a week. First, the Germany international wants the No. 10 jersey vacated by Jack Wilshere's loan move to Bournemouth.

Second, he wants guarantees from the club that they are committed to being a world-class side by bringing in other big-name stars in upcoming transfer windows. This summer saw the arrival of Granit Xhaka and Ozil's Germany teammate Shkodran Mustafi.

And what if the Gunners rebuke Ozil's demands? Then the 28-year-old will take his boots and make a dream return to the Bernabeu, says Bild.

Ozil is said to be a big admirer of Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane and the project he has going on in the capital. However, fan favourite Ozil is also thought to be very happy at Arsenal and, if said stipulations could be met, an extension beyond his current deal that runs until 2018 may yet be in the cards.

Conte demands squad overhaul

Antonio Conte has thrashed out talks with Roman Abramovich over three days at the club's training ground to rip up his Chelsea squad, according to The Times.

The Italian has insisted that the Blues squad be "dismantled" due to their inability to recapture their title-winning form after a concerning start to the season.

Back-to-back league defeats against Liverpool and Arsenal have shown glaring weaknesses in the likes of Branislav Ivanovic, Gary Cahill, Nemanja Matic and others.

Despite his notoriety for having little patience with managers not producing results, the Russian billionaire is believed to be ready to meet his demands and sanction a ruthless rebuilding project as of January.

Liverpool lead chase for next Ibrahimovic

Alexander Isak is drawing rave reviews out of AIK Solna, with Liverpool said to be amongst a cluster of clubs attending the Friends Arena lately, according to Sport.

The 17-year-old striker was recently dubbed "the next Zlatan Ibrahimovic" by his teammate Chinedu Obasi and has struck seven times this season, with just as many for the Sweden under-17 national team.

A recent double this month on his birthday in the Stockholm derby against Djurgardens helped secure a 3-0 win and enhance his reputation.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Leicester are also readying offers with the player's contract expiring in less than two years.

Man United take Brazilian starlet on trial

Manchester United have drafted in Matheus Marcosi on trial, with the Desportivo Brasil starlet training at the Carrington training complex this week, according to the Mail.

With several past visits to the Red Devils, Marcosi, who plays at the back and in midfield, is said to be on the verge of earning a deal with Jose Mourinho's side.

The 16-year-old could follow Dutch youngster Tahith Chong and Irish talent Lee O'Connor in bolstering Nicky Butt's academy setup as United continue to scour the globe for the top talent.
