Hyderabad: South Zone police initiated steps to invoke the PD Act against black magic practitioner Fayyaz Mahmood Ansari, who sexually assaulted several women and 30 children. Ansari was remanded in judicial custody and police moved a petition before court seeking his custody on Wednesday. "The custody petition has been posted for arguments and meanwhile we have initiated the procedure to book him under the PD Act," deputy commissioner of police (DCP), South Zone, V Satyanarayana said.

Police also started analysing the sexual assault videos recorded in Ansari's laptop to identify more victims. tnnDuring his interrogation, Ansari claimed that he was trained under the controversial preacher Zakir Naik at Mumbai before coming to Hyderabad four years ago. Police want to grill Ansari more about his alleged links with Naik in police custody.
