Facing heat from fixed-pay employees, Gujarat government Wednesday announced to give special allowance to 5,056 such employees of secondary and higher secondary grant-in-aid schools. The government also modified various conditions of their service. This move, which will cause annual financial burden of Rs 9.10 crore, was announced by Education Minister Bhupendra-sinh Chudasama in a release.
Quoting Chudasama, the release added that these 5,056 employees will get annual increment of Rs 1,500. According to the modified service conditions, the fixed-pay employees will be entitled to remuneration for additional work, insurance cover in case of natural or accidental death, leaves to appear in competitive examinations in state and health benefits.
