6,766 take benefit of Mudra Bank Scheme in Chandrapur

CHANDRAPUR: Various banks in the district have provided loans amounting to Rs81.54 crore to 6,766 people under Mudra Bank Scheme during the last few months. This scheme, floated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, helps the educated and unemployed youths to take up entrepreneurship by offering mortgage free loan at subsidized interest rates.
Recent Mudra Loan Mela held by the district administration with the initiative of MP Hansraj Ahir saw 6000 applications received by various banks from interested entrepreneurs.

Government has fixed the target of Rs300 crores for disbursement in Chandrapur district under the scheme. So far, a total of 6766 applicants have been awarded with the loans collectively amounting to Rs87.54 crores in different categories by separate banks. Bank of Maharashtra leads the tally with disbursement of loan amounting to Rs20.61 cores, while State Bank of India closely follows with disbursement of loans worth Rs16.60 crores in the district.
