French ambassador Eric Chevallier has said that the State of Qatar was the second largest investor in France during the year 2015.
He said that the total value of the economic contracts signed between the Qatari and French sides over the past year amounted to approximately QR32.7bn.
The  ambassador was speaking to Qatar news agency (QNA) on the sideline of the business meetings organised by the national agency for supporting the international development of the French economy (Business France), aiming to introduce 10 French companies.
Eric Chevallier said that these companies were working in the field of high-end hospitality, in terms of standards and the products offered in this sector, adding that they came to Qatar because of the belief that there was a diversity in Qatar’s economy, and that, despite the decline in oil prices, the Qatari economy was witnessing activity and growth as a result of diversity policy pursued in the country.
The ambassador  stated that the keenness of these companies to come to Doha reflected their confidence in the performance of the Qatari economy and the availability of investment opportunities.
The French delegation consists of hotels furniture suppliers and interior designers, including a number of prestigious companies which hold the State Certification of Excellence.-QNA
