Lucknow: Monthly emoluments of Aanganwadi workers will be raised with effect from October 1. According to an announcement by chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday, while monthly salary of regular Aanganwadi workers has been increased from Rs 3,200 to Rs 4,000, mini Aanganwadi workers will now get Rs 3,000 instead of Rs 2,250. Similary, Aanganwadi assistants getting Rs 1,600, will now get Rs 2,000 per month.
According to an official release, the decision will bring relief to over 3.25 lakh Aangandwadi workers.
The decision was taken after a delegation of protesting Aanganwadi workers met the chief minister and appraised him of their demands, including for salary hike. After the announcement, the protesting workers decided to call off their protest which has been on for past few months at district level.
