Lucknow: One side of the Matiyari
flyover on
Faizabad was opened from Wednesday to commuters coming from Faizabad road towards Polytechnic crossing.
The flyover is being built by
National Highway Authority of India for the last one year.
It was supposed to get operational from February but changes in plan, including addition of another span from
Dewa Road, led to the delay.
NHAI claimed the other side-from Lucknow towards Faizabad-would also be opened for public by November.
The flyover is aimed at helping accommodate increasing traffic load from nearby towns to main city and also city traffic moving towards outskirts on daily basis.
Because of delayed construction, the flyover has caused huge daylong traffic jams, especially during office hours.
