Go beyond RSS bashing

A fear psychosis about the RSS ideology has been created. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat joins hands with leaders of various religions during the Chinmaya birth centenary celebrations in New Delhi. PTI

This is a rejoinder to C.P.  Bhambhri's article published in The Tribune (September 14). In the beginning Bhambhri has stated, "Under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi", I do not agree that Rahul Gandhi is a leader; rather leadership has been thrust upon him. He has been catapulted to this position circumstantially, thanks to a void of able leaders in the Congress party.

Then he (Bhambhri) has said that Congress agenda is different from its ideological opponents. In the past over 60 years it was really different. Congress, during this period promoted, protected, provided shelter to dishonest and corrupt people like A Raja, Dayanidhi Maran, Navin Jindal, Kanhimozhi and Suresh Kalmadi et al . Their misdeeds resulted in the loss of lakhs of crores to the government exchequer. This is unparallelled. These bhadarapurushas  have been the blue-eyed boys of the Gandhi family.

Really, this agenda is quite different from that of the BJP government during whose last two-and-a-half years rule, not a single incident of corruption has been reported in the media. The claim that only Congress men preferred to go to jail for freedom movement, is baseless and unfounded. Pattabhi Sitaramayya, the then Congress president had once publicly said that more than 80 per cent of the freedom fighters jailed belonged to the Arya Samaj. Don't malign the Hindus by citing a single instance. Bhambhri and Rahul consider only the RSS and the BJP as having a divisive and hateful agenda.

Are they not aware of the thousands of madarsas running in West Bengal and the North-East since long propagating Muslim radicalism? Thousands of Christian missionaries are promoting Christianity in south-east India, particularly in Jharkhand, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.  Have they ever raised an eyebrow against these activities or they think these are a part of secularism? Left ideologists and pseudo-secularist Congress people are the biggest dividers of minority communities.

They betray and cheat them by creating in them a false fear psychosis about RSS ideology. Forget that Rahul Gandhi can do anything for the betterment of Indian society; he cannot speak a few lines without being prompted. What type of “unity in diversity” do Bhambhri and Rahul Gandhi want? What have they done for their cause during the last 60 years? They want to continue to mislead the whole nation with anti- Hindu rhetoric. People no longer listen to them, as they have recognised their nefarious intentions as they brandish their own brand of secularism. Bhambri is beating about the bush sans any logical conclusion. Who does not know that secularism is the pillar of the Constitution of India; then why is he repeating it again and again? By terming the RSS and the BJP as champions of militant Hindutva, he is exposing his own fears and lies. People have known through  experience that the RSS is a social organisation, just preaching its ideology as others are doing.

Bhambhri has further said that the Congress declined after Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi because it made opportunistic compromises with opponents of secularism. He has lost track of facts and reality. Nehru in his time had requisitioned the RSS volunteers’ services on several occasions in distress. Nehru never uttered a word against the RSS till he was alive. Bhambhri's aversion to Vedic sanskriti, called Brahmanical by him, shows his ignorance and lack of respect for our culture.

First, he should know that a Brahmin is a highly learned person, not only by birth. Vedic sanskriti is the encyclopaedia of whole knowledge for the mankind which contains gyaan (knowledge) and solutions to all problems. The writer and others like him have thinking limited only only Left ideology and western theory.

Bhambhri suggests that every secularist (including Rahul Gandhi) should reach the common man with a clear message that the Hindutva of the RSS is different from Indian Hinduism. Nobody is going to trust them at this point of time because of their known hatred and disdain for Hindus since long.

The claim that secularists of India respect every religion, including Hinduism, sound hollow and devoid of truth. Hindus comprising more than 80 per cent of the population in the country, have not been appreciated till today by them. Secularists and the Congress people have an inherent contempt against Hindus and Hinduism since decades. Bhambhri is suffering from the RSS-BJP phobia when he says the Sangh parivaar's definition that "Bharat Mata is the country of Hindus and other Indians like Muslims, Christians and others are not the children of Bharat Mata," shows utter frustration.

It is regrettable that such people have not learnt any lesson from their defeat in the May 2014, Lok Sabha poll. Even the report by the Antony Committee, appointed by the Congress to probe the debacle, highlighted that continuous disrespect and neglect of the majority community was the major cause of their defeat.  Bhambhri should keep in mind that so long as the mother-son duo are at the helm of the Congress, the party cannot be revived. The Gandhi parivaar is engaged 24 hrs in abusing and blaming Narendra Modi, which is by itself unethical. With their command over the Congress, the party will not also fare well in the next Lok Sabha elections.
