Shivaay girl excited over Tamil debut

The team has already completed the first schedule in Chennai.

Tollywood star Sayyeshaa is extremely excited about her Tamil debut in an untitled film, directed by Vijay, in which she is paired opposite Jayam Ravi. The team has already completed the first schedule in Chennai — and the pretty actress, who debuted in Telugu with Akhil, says that she bagged this project because of her Telugu film — “Vijay sir approached me directly and appreciated my performance in Akhil. When he narrated the script, I felt it would be the best launch for me in Tamil. I can’t reveal much about my character right now.”

About her Tamil fluency, she explains, “Being in Mumbai, I don’t get to listen to Tamil. My first line in Tamil was for the film! At first, it was difficult, but now I have got used to it. I rehearse my lines well in advance as I don’t like being prompted.”
Sayyeshaa, who will soon be seen in Shivaay with Ajay Devgn, adds that she has an affinity towards the south film industry — “The atmosphere is very family-like, at the same time, professional. I love the food too! I am just three films old, so I am getting comfortable before the camera gradually.”

Having forayed into Tamil, Telugu and Hindi industries, are Kannada and Malayalam too on the anvil? “Right now, I am very busy. My Kannada and Malayalam debut are definitely not on the cards,” she answers.

Sayyeshaa, who is also very passionate about dancing, and has learnt Kathak, belly dancing and hip hop, signs off saying, “Coming from a filmy family, I always wanted to become an actor. There was never another option in terms of my career. I am lucky though, to have achieved what I wanted.”
