Dan Harmon, the creator of “Community” and co-creator of animated series “Rick and Morty,” has been added to the slate of the 2016 New York Comedy Festival, as have Jenny Slate, Jay Pharoah, and a panel on Netflix comedy “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” among other additions.

Harmon will appear in “Harmontown Live with Dan Harmon,” while Slate, Max Silvestri and Gabe Liedman will stage their comedy show “Big Terrific” as part of the festival. Former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Pharoah will headline a solo show, while the “Kimmy Schmidt” panel will include writers of the show including Tina Fey and Robert Carlock.

Returning to the festival is the 9th annual New York’s Funniest  Stand-up competition, which is open to any and all performers who think they have what it takes to be called “New York’s Funniest.”

“It’s more important now than ever to laugh. That’s exactly what the New York Comedy Festival is about, and the newest additions to this year’s line-up ensure there is something for every audience member,” said Caroline Hirsch, founder and owner of the New York Comedy Festival and Carolines on Broadway. “We look forward every year not only to our stand-up performances but also our panel discussions, which continue to be as informative and engaging as they are funny.”

Previously announced comedians as part of the 2016 lineup include Dane Cook,  Bill Maher, Tracy Morgan, Trevor Noah and Patton Oswalt along with many others.

The 13th annual NYCF, running Nov. 1-6,  is presented in association with Comedy Central and produced by Carolines on Broadway.
