The state government will celebrate ‘Gram Sachivalaya Divas’ on October 2, 2016. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and other Ministers will visit the gram sachivalayas in their respective areas and review their functioning. This was stated by Development and Panchayats Minister OP Dhankar while interacting with mediapersons here today.
He said the state government was establishing gram sachivalayas in villages to enable the gram panchayats to function as institutions of self-governance. It is for the first time that such an initiative has been taken in the state to ensure smooth development of rural areas and provide all necessary facilities to villagers on the pattern of urban areas under one roof.
About 1,500 gram sachivalayas would be established in the state. A target has been fixed to set up 1,000 gram sachivalayas by October 2, 2016. Out of these, 916 gram sachivalayas have already been established, he said.
