The police said Naidu often fought with his sister and mother. According to the police, Jayashree who was married a few years back, had returned home six months ago after her marriage did not work out. Naidu, who had been unemployed since the past six months, was worried that his sister had been staying with them, and she would get the property and he would not get a share, an officer said.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajendra Chavan said the police have arrested the accused and produced him before a local court. “The accused has been remanded to police custody till October 3. It appears that he committed the murder as he had a fight with his sister over some property-related issue,” Chavan said.
