Parvathy Nair plays a Malayali in Parthiepan’s movie

Parvathy Nair plays a Malayali in Parthiepan’s movie
After acting with Kamal Haasan in 'Uttama Villain', Parvathy Nair has bagged yet another plum role in Tamil, as the lead in actor-director Parthiepan’s film titled 'Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga'.
The actress describes the role as the most challenging one ever in her career, and says that’s precisely the reason why she took up the character. “Usually at this point in one’s career, no one asks for an audition, they just cast you.
But Parthiepan sir asked for one. I was given a couple of lines in Tamil, which were really tough and performance oriented. It was at that point that I realised why he called for an audition,” says Parvathy.
Although she is more fluent in Malayalam than in Tamil, she managed to perform, and Parthiepan was convinced. “I got to know later that he had auditioned a lot of actors. Though the lines are mostly in Tamil, I play a Malayalai girl. The character has a no make-up look in the film, and so for the audition too I had to go without even kajal on.”
The team has finished a schedule. “My role is the most challenging one I have done so far. I’m not allowed to reveal more details,” she says.
Parthiepan too says that the name of the movie translates to ‘’fill in the blanks’’ and so ‘’the blanks will be filled up if he reveals the story’’! “I chose Parvathy as she already looks 50 % of the character, who is a Malayali girl named Mohini. We shot in Mahabalipuram, and will shoot the rest in Kerala, Chennai and also a foreign location.”
Shanthanu, son of actor director Bhagyaraj, will be playing the lead while Parthiepan will be appearing in a cameo. There will also be some surprise cameos by industry biggies, the director adds.
