Pakistan diplomat calls Narendra Modi ‘terrorist’ on Rajdeep Sardesai’s show

New Delhi, Sep 28: Former Pakistan diplomat Zafar Ali Hilaly called Prime Minister Narendra a ‘terrorist’ on live show of Rajdeep Sardesai. Zafar Ali Hilaly later walked out of the show in between when Rajdeep Sardesai took strong objection over his ‘terrorist’ remark on Narendra Modi. Rajdeep Sardesai was holding a discussion on India, Pakistan relationship in the wake of SAARC conference collapse after New Delhi decided to skip the summit hosted by Islamabad in order to isolate the neighbour over cross-border terrorism. Zafar Ali Hilaly, who appeared in the show to put Pakistan’s stand, lost cool and called Narendra Modi a ‘terrorist’.

Television journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, who often becomes target of bhakts on social media for being critical of Narendra Modi government, held a discussion on the future of SAARC after four countries including India decided not to participate in SAARC summit in Pakistan. The discussion, which was aired on India Today channel, was joined by former Pakistan diplomat Zafar Ali Hilaly, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor and Kanak Mani Dikshit, a senior journalist from Nepal. During the discussion, Zafar Hilaly lost his cool and called PM Narendra Modi a ‘terrorist’.

“You elected a terrorist. You elected a person who has Muslim blood on his hands,” Zafar Hilaly said during the live show when asked about Pakistan sponsored terrorism. The derogatory comment of Pak diplomat made Rajdeep Sardesai angry. Rajdeep Sardesai rebuked the defamatory remark of Zafar Hilaly. “I don’t want to make this show a platform where a Pakistani comes and calls Indian Prime Minister a terrorist. I object to it. It is unacceptable,” said furious Rajdeep. Congress leader Shahshi Tharoor also slammed the Pak diplomat for making offensive remark on Indian Prime Minister.

Twitterati went out in praise for Rajdeep Sardesai after the incident. “A dignified way to show door to a Pak diplomat, calling our PM terrorist. One need not always need to SHOUT,” a tweeple wrote tagging Rajdeep.
