Horticulture officer sentenced for securing job on fake certificates

Solan, Sep 28 (UNI) Chief Judicial Magistrate Sachin Raghu today convicted accused Satya Prakash Kanaujiya and sentenced him to undergo simple imprisonment for six months and a fine of Rs 2000 for cheating here today.
In default of payment of fine, he will further undergo simple imprisonment for two months. The court also convicted him for offences under section 467,468,469,471 of IPC and sentenced him to undergo simple imprisonment for six months and to pay fine of Rs 2000, each. All the sentences will run concurrently. The accused is a resident of Patel Bihar near Beri Bithur road Kalyanpur, Tehsil and District Kanpur, UP.
District Attorney N L Sen said during 1998, one post of Horticulture Development Officer reserved for OBC category was advertised by Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission. The accused also applied for the post and claimed that he was adopted son of Kirpa Ram of village Daunsi, Tehsil and District Solan. He also claimed that an adoption deed was registered in the office of Sub Registrar, Solan. He also procured Himachali Bonafide certificate and OBC certificate.
