Congress leaders are crybabies: V K Singh
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister of state for external affairs V K Singh said on Tuesday that Congress leaders - who termed his boss' speech at the UN General Assembly (UNGA) against Pakistan as meek - were crybabies.
"Being in the opposition and that too with a strength which is not even worth mentioning, they are acting like crybabies," he said. Asserting that, external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj had delivered an 'effective speech' at UNGA, Singh wondered whether 'the Congress wanted somebody to wield a sword out there'.
"Have they done so? The world of diplomacy is different," he added.
When asked whether India was successful in isolating Pakistan internationally, he said: "Sushma Swaraj told the world that we extended our hand of friendship and got terrorism. States that sponsor terrorism must be isolated and I am quite sure the world will listen to it," he said.
On the move to review Indus waters treaty, Singh said India has the right to review whatever is linked to Pakistan. "I don't know how Pakistan is looking at it. Our PM has said that blood and water do not flow together," he said.
The minister said that Pakistan was diverting the attention of its people by raising the Kashmir issue. "PM asked them to look within, to look at the human rights violation in Sindh, Balochistan and Baltistan before they even talk about Kashmir," he added.
On the Indian workers laid off in Saudi Arabia, Singh said the labour ministry had intervened to ensure exit visas . "The major employers are Saudi Oger, Saad and Saudi bin Laden, of which we have a problem with the latter two with regard to issuance of NOCs required for exit visas. Workers from Oger, have already started returning, with the Saudi government giving them free air passage. Saad is refusing to do anything and the Saudi ministry has intervened," he said.
