AS part of its efforts to promote health and wellness initiatives in Qatar, Fraser Suites Doha recently organised a blood donation campaign, in association with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), to support patients in need and spread a culture of voluntary blood donation among all segments of society.
The campaign witnessed the participation of many of Fraser Suites Doha's staff, guests and clients and acted as a platform for giving back to the community, in the framework of the Hotel's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
"Blood donation is an opportunity to volunteer, rather than be drafted. Wouldn't it feel good to put out your arm (for blood) for a cause and walk away knowing you've contributed to the good health of someone other than yourself? Giving back to the community as a team with responsiveness and commitment to help medical institutions save lives is the core value of Frasers Hospitality Vision. We are grateful for the overwhelming response of the campaign and to feel volunteers share the importance of the cause with us. If you are capable of donating your blood, do not hesitate for a second knowing that you can save someone's life," said Fraser Suites Doha's Operations Manager Madalina Dogaru.
As well as helping save lives and 'doing good' for the community, Fraser Suites Doha's initiative aimed to shed light on the resulting health benefits for donors, which according to medical authorities range from reducing risk of heart and liver ailments caused by iron overload to discovering potential underlying health issues during the donor's wellness checkup.
"It is a very natural thing to do to help people. Everyone must do it. You never know who might need your blood and how much it could mean to them," said Fraser Suites Doha's Maintenance Manager Aiham al Theeb.
Echoing Theeb's remarks, long-term resident Abdul Karim said:"Fraser Suites Doha is doing a great job and this is a good example for other companies to follow. What can be better than saving lives and helping humanity?"
