Concession on high cost cancer medicines at Hospital Pharmacy

KAKRYAL, Sept 27:  Keeping in view the fact that the medicines relating to life consuming diseases, especially of cancer, are quite costlier, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal will provide these high cost essential medicines to the patients at a substantial concession.
This was decided at the 28th meeting of the governing body of the Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal, held here. The meeting was chaired by Dr S S Bloeria, Member, SMVD Shrine Board and Chairman of the governing body of the Hospital.
It was informed in the meeting that in pursuance to the decision of the 27th meeting of the governing body, the hospital has also started providing 10 percent uniform discount on all the medicines sold through the OPD Pharmacy of the Hospital.
The meeting also took stock of organizing of various outreach programmes, holding of Sunday OPDs at Jammu and Udhampur in the coming days as well as organizing of different medical conferences, workshops and other interactive sessions by the hospital during the next three months.
The Chairman of the governing body also took stock of progress on making Brachytherapy and Gamma Camera functional at the hospital. He was informed that all the facilities are ready and only AERB approval is awaited, which is expected any time now.
Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, Vice Chairman, MD and Group CEO NH, shared the schedule of visits of reputed consultants of other NH Hospitals to the Superspeciality Hospital at Kakryal. Dr Bloeria underscored the need for increasing the frequency and stay of these doctors so that a much larger number of patients could benefit from their expertise.
The Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal has also started Paediatric Haematology and Oncology OPD clinic for screening and consultation on various types of cancers and blood disorders among children. The first such OPD consultation was provided by Dr Sunil Bhat, Paediatric Haematologist and Oncologist from NH Bangalore on 22-23 September. To begin with, this facility will be available once in two months, at a pre-announced date. The hospital is also preparing to commence Bone Marrow Transplant facility shortly.
