After drawing flak for Delhi-based leaders for virtually running it in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party has started setting up its state unit.
In the first of its appointment for the state unit, a Mandi Gobindgarh-based Anna Hazare movement activist Gulshan Chhabra was appointed party state secretary. He was introduced to the media by Delhi MLA and co-Incharge of AAP’s affairs in Punjab, Jarnail Singh, who said more such appointments for the state unit were in the offing.

Earlier, the AAP convener did not have a team. Instead,
the party had 13 zonal in-charges heading the 13 Lok Sabha segments.
Head of the NRI Wing of AAP, Jagtar Singh Sanghera. condemned the decision of state government to stop the allowances of pensioners who are settled abroad after their retirement.
“The decision was an attempt to take revenge from NRIs, as a majority of them extended their support to AAP,” said Sanghera said.
AAP leaders said once voted to power, it would reverse this decision to ensure all due benefits to pensioners.
