SINDRI: Teachers of different colleges of
Vinoba Bhave University will go on mass casual leave (CL) on Wednesday to press for their long pending demands on a call given by the Federation of University Teachers Association of
Jharkhand (FUTAJ).
General secretary of
Vinoba Bhave University Teachers Association (VBUTA) B N Singh informed that teachers of all the 18 constituent colleges of the university, postgraduation (PG) departments and
St Columba's college have served notices to their respective administrative heads regarding their decision.
Similarly, teachers of all other universities of the state will remain on a day's leave and participate in the daylong dharna before the
Raj Bhavan to voice their concerns over state government.
Singh alleged that while college teachers of the entire nation are looking forward for 7th pay commission, the Jharkhand government is yet to clear the arrear of the 5th and 6th wage revision causing resentment among college teachers. Increasing the earn leave (EL) reimbursement up to 300 days, payment of transport allowance as per UGC norms are among other demands.
