Dehradun, September 27

Governor KK Paul has directed Chief Secretary Shatrughan Singh to examine appointments and alleged irregularities that have surfaced in Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU).

The issues include irregularities in appointments. It is alleged the university authorities favoured their relatives. Contractual employees sourced through UPNL are receiving higher salaries in the range of Rs 47,000, when their monthly salaries cannot be higher than Rs 33,000 per month. Students too have raised doubts about the manner in which annual examinations are being conducted by the university. Others are cases of alleged financial irregularities committed in awarding of works to IT companies and procurement of vehicles.
