Stating that the government has pushed Kashmiris back to 90’s, the opposition National Conference (NC) on Tuesday said that with killing, maiming, blinding, arresting people of Kashmir, it seems that the present regime is at war with the people of Kashmir. Talking to KNS, NC’s provisional president, Nasir Aslam Wani said the state government has pushed the valley inhabitants back to the situation of 90’s. “Despite the government is beating drums over the educational career of students; the educational institutes in valley have been occupied by forces so how is it possible for the student to resume his or her schooling,” he said. He said that despite, the minor (school going) have been arrested while the government is also planning to slap PSA on those arrested as well. “As per the reports, at least ten thousand people in Kashmir have been arrested while PSA has been slapped on one thousand Kashmiris. The present dispensation has surpassed all the records of slapping PSA on its people,” he said.

Wani said that the more than 80 people were killed, ever-lasting number of people were maimed while several other were maimed, arrested, which seems that the present coalition government is at war with the people of Kashmir. “The government has surpassed all the records of human rights violation by killing, maiming, blinding, arresting people and using pellet guns in Kashmir,” he said, adding that “Chief Minister has no control. I would say that the present coalition government has utterly failed to do good governance on the ground.”Lashing out at People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Nasir said, “The party has wwon the elections by assuring people that give us votes and we will keep BJP (their coalition partner) at bay but the party betrayed the trust of people. If you see, in the ongoing uprising, people from their winning constituencies are much agitating as compared to other constituencies.”(KNS)
