Kolkata, Sep 27 (UNI) At the cusp of completing 75 years, Colourful festivity lined up at Singhi Park Sarbojanin Durga Puja this year including extravaganza of Chandannagar light --giant 3D electronic structures moving around , cultural program throughout the puja. Three days of bhog and colourful pratima bisharjan sovayatra not less than a kilometer long with the traditional musical band , lights as well as some of the colourful traditional art forms of the different states of India which include Dragon Dance by Chinese community living in Kolkata , Chou , Natua and Bullock Fight of Purulia , Kathakali of Kerala and Bhangra of Punjab . Leading the procession will be a team of women dhakis depicting the women power Singhi Park Sarbojanin Durga Puja Committee (SPSDPC), this year come up with the pandal will be built as an replica of the Ambaji Mata Temple situated near Mount Abu. The temple is a major Shakti Peeth of India. In the holy temple of "Arasuri Ambaji", there is no image or statue of goddess. The holy "Shree Visa Yantra" is worshiped as the main deity. No one can see the Yantra with naked eye. The photography of the Yantra is prohibited. The original seat of Ambaji mata is on gabbar hilltop in Ambaji town. The temple is known for its distinct sand stone architecture and a golden tomb on top. The puja committee has come up with the unique idea of maintaining heavy security during the days of festivity. Along with the regular deployment of private security and volunteers they will have spy-cams placed in the “Chalchitra” of Mother Goddess and drones flying overhead to keep a watch on crowd safety. “Safety and security is a prime concern. Since we are celebrating our 75th year we expect the crowd to be more than double as of last year. The way untoward incidents are happening in crowded areas during festivity all around the world, we need to keep an eye over the crowd very closely. And hence the idea came to our mind. The fact that the spy-cams are placed along the pratima makes it symbolical of the goddess keeping an eye on you,” said Jt Secretary of SPSDPC Bhaskar Nandi. “There is a limitation of manual security deployment as well as rising cost. We had decided to deploy drone with video cam flying up & down across the puja complex. The video output will be monitored and recorded ,” he said . Apart from this, the committee was grateful to Pandit Subhen Chatterjee who had agreed to compose a theme song for this year. “Since Gujarat Tourism Board is helping us with our production , it was only logical that the touch of Gujarat’s music will be present in our theme song. Pandit Subhen Chatterjee has done a wonderful job. He has used folk tunes and traditional instruments of Gujarat while composing a theme song on the semi-classical lines,” said another Jt Secretary of SPSDPC Bhaskar Nandi. The illustrious history of Singhi Park Durga Puja dates back to 1941. The pioneer of this Puja in its initial years of celebration was Late Birendranath Mustafi who was ably assisted by Late Lalit Mohon Mitra, Late Nolini Mohon Shastri, Late Soumendu Nath Sinha, Late Rajanath Banerjee etc. During this long journey of 74 years, the puja has been established as one of the most prestigious pujas of Kolkata, gaining the acceptance of the local community whole-heartedly.
